The Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk is a free, self-guided walking tour located between 4th and 7th and Spring and Main along with galleries, restaurants and bars in several surrounding blocks of Downtown Los Angeles.
The Downtown LaA Art Walk was founded in 2004 with a handful of galleries located in Gallery Row as a platform to encourage Los Angelenos from all over the city to visit Downtown LA by inviting galleries to stay open late once a month. Since then the Downtown LA Art Walk has become the most prominent event in the local community and widely known through the Greater Los Angeles area.
What began organically grew into what we recognize today as the Downtown Art Walk with over 50 galleries, 25,000 monthly guests, dozens of local businesses and a million dollars of entertainment for free to the visiting public.
The above informations comes from thier website. http://downtownartwalk.org/ Everyone can get more details about Art Walk on the website. This was my first time to attend the banquent. Actually it was very awesome for me. Not only was it free to join, but also its location was so different from what I though before. I usually think any art exhibition is quiet and simple style. The art walk in LA was like a praty. Many art works were in the galleries and many restaurant and bars are bwtreen these streets. People can walk by watching these art work and eat or drink when they want to take a break. It was so fun for everyone to try to walk there, but everyone still be careful about downtown's surroundings. Some places are dangerous, especially for women. The following picture is the one painting which I really like. It touched a lot, but I had no money to buy the painting. From the painting, I thought I were there and looked at the sky. I found that in fact I am so little in the world. I have no idea to achieve any goal, although I had dreams before. If someone comes to LA and there is a art walk, I recommand he/she not to miss the banquent. So Fantastic it was.
